Command-Line Interface (CLI)

Complete installation and command reference for the Trentarev terminal client (@trentarev/cli).

The official command-line interface for the Trentarev Financial & AI Intelligence Platform. Access real-time market signals, AI stock predictions, position risk models, institutional whale flows, trading call logs, and streaming AI assistant directly from your terminal.

Installation

You can install @trentarev/cli via single-line install scripts, globally through NPM, or run it directly using npx.

Single-Line Installation

Authentication

Before running commands, authenticate your terminal client with your Trentarev account:

trentarev login

This spins up a local loopback server, opens your web browser for authentication, and saves your session token to ~/.trentarev/credentials.json.

To override the default API server URL during login:

trentarev login --server <url>

Other authentication commands:

  • whoami / status: Display account profile details, active subscription tier, capabilities, and active calls:

    trentarev whoami [--json]
  • logout: Revoke session token and clear credentials locally:
    bash
    trentarev logout

Intelligence & Signals

Real-time Signals

Stream real-time alpha signals, insider flows, and neural signals:

  • --stream <all|neural|flow|sentiment|sec>: Filter by signal stream type.
  • -s, --symbol <symbol>: Filter signals by a specific stock ticker symbol.
  • -c, --min-confidence <number>: Filter signals by minimum confidence threshold (0.0 to 1.0).
  • -l, --limit <number>: Limit the number of returned signals (default: 15).
  • --json: Output raw data as formatted JSON.

AI Stock Predictor

Generate AI-driven directional predictions, target prices, and key catalysts:

  • -t, --timeframe <horizon>: Set time horizon: short (default), medium, or long.
  • --json: Output prediction data as JSON.

AI Position Sizing & Risk Assessment

Calculate risk metrics and target position sizes for a specific trade setup:

  • --entry <price>: (Required) The planned trade entry price.
  • --target <price>: (Required) The target exit price.
  • --stop <price>: (Required) The stop-loss price.
  • --capital <amount>: Total portfolio capital allocated (default: 10000).
  • --tolerance <level>: Set risk tolerance level: low, medium (default), or high.
  • --json: Output risk assessment metrics as JSON.

Trading Calls Management

Log and manage structural positions (Trading Calls) from your terminal.

List Calls

List all active and historical trading calls:

Log a Call

Create a new trading position log:

  • --type <buy|sell>: (Required) Transaction type.
  • --entry <price>: (Required) Entry execution price.
  • --target <price>: (Required) Target limit price.
  • --stop <price>: (Required) Stop-loss execution price.
  • --horizon <horizon>: Set time horizon: SHORT, MEDIUM, or LONG.
  • --reasoning <text>: Document your trade thesis/catalyst.

Close a Call

Close an active trade call using its database ID:

Whale & SEC Flow Tracking

Institutional Whale Flows

Track large institutional orders (exceeding $1M+) flowing through public markets:

  • --type <BUY|SELL|ALL>: Filter by trade action direction (default: ALL).
  • -s, --symbol <symbol>: Filter transactions by ticker.
  • -l, --limit <number>: Maximum number of transactions to list (default: 15).
  • --json: Output transactions as raw JSON.

SEC Insider Transactions

Inspect recent SEC Form 4 filings for company insiders:

Terminal AI Assistant REPL

Engage directly with the Trentarev AI streaming engine within your terminal:

This spawns an interactive REPL environment that handles streaming responses to your quantitative, macro, and ticker-specific queries.

Security & Configuration

  • Local Storage: All credentials and session tokens are strictly stored locally in ~/.trentarev/credentials.json.
  • File Permissions: On UNIX-based filesystems, the credentials file is written with strict 0600 (read/write owner only) permissions.
  • Session Lifecycle: Active session tokens remain valid for 90 days. Logging out via trentarev logout immediately revokes the session on the auth server and deletes the local credentials file.
